MIACARLA are an intense, energetic rock/alternative band from the Gold Coast, Australia.
Forming in late 2005, Miacarla have already scored support slots for Australian pop punk legends Bodyjar, The Used (USA), Fast Crew (NZ), Blindside (SWE), Crowned King (CAN) and Sydney boys The Mission In Motion. Their diverse sound allows them to hit the stage with an array of bands, which in turn, continues to expand their already strong fan base.
In late 2006, Miacarla recorded a two track promotional CD with Australian Producer, Alex Markwell (Bodyjar, Van Lustbader, 28 Days), which multiplied the demand for the band. In 2007 the band rose to a whole new level as they endured a ruthless playing schedule performing with such bands as hardcore outfit Irrelevant and pop/punk band Stealing O’Neal just to name a few. They played at both Rock It In The Park 07 and Transition 07 before undertaking a tour of Sydney in June.
Mid year also saw the boys taking out the title in the 2007 Jim Beam Battle of the Bands competition held on the Gold Coast. This in turn has lead to radio play of their first single ‘The Search’ on SeaFM.
Miacarla stepped into the studio again with producer Alex Markwell & producer/mix engineer Rick Hollis (Sunk Loto) and recorded their debut release, ’The Soundtrack To An Imagination’.
After warming up audiences at the 2007 Rockstar Taste Of Chaos tour at the Brisbane Ent Centre in October, and having their debut single ‘The Search’ nominated for a MusicOz Award the boys released their highly anticipated EP ’The Soundtrack To An Imagination’ in November 2007 to a near sold-out home town show.
2008 has, so far, seen Miacarla appear at the Big Day Out in January and tour nationally on 'The Soundtrack To An Imagination'. They will begin work on their new release later this year.
