Born and raised in New York, sisters Meylin, Zulay and Mavis make up the pop/R&B/Latin group Miah (pronounced mee-ah). They grew up in a bilingual household, honed their vocal skills in church choirs, and decided to start their own group after having been cast by Paul Simon in his Broadway musical The Capeman. Their Latin-tinged sound draws from the likes of TLC, Destinys Child, and En Vogue.
Performances include Super Bowl XXXVII (NFL) Tailgate Party in San Diego joining The Goo Goo Dolls and Bonnie Raitt, ABC Networks All Star Major League Soccer Halftime Show opening for Paulina Rubio, the Jorge Posada Foundation Party at the Copacabana New York with Ruben Blades, Domingo Quinones, Ray Sepulveda, Angel Lopez (Son By Four), Obie Bermudez, and Hector Y Tito, the BMI Latin Lingo Showcase at Club Groove New York, and Joes Pub at the New York Public Theater.
I think you have a real winner in your hands and hope that when the project is ready, that KTU will be the first to play it.
