I Teach GUITAR LESSONS FromGuitartoMusic.com - On the other side of my music life, I currently teach guitar out of my home here in Chandler to +/-15 great students. I'm so lucky. The nicest people come to me for guitar lessons. If you live local and are looking for a teacher to get you started from sratch or want more advanced questions answered, I have room for a couple new students right now. Just contact me at micah@fromguitartomusic.com or through my lesson website link below.
MY BACKGROUND ----I'm a self-taught musician and the epitome of the DIY'er. I read up on anything I'm interested in and really enjoy learning. So I learned how to do everything an independent musician needs in pursuit of a music career: website, recording, promotion, advertising, design, video, photoraphy, etc. Still learning, but wow, do I know a lot more than I used to. Feels great.
----OK, now the brief music history. I started guitar at age 14. After having played guitar for two years I wanted to be in a band. Carpetroom, my first real band, was voted 1 of the top 3 best bands in the CA, Bay Area in 2000 by a large local magazine. We had a blast. Many years later after Carpetroom disolved, I was hired by, then joined San Francisco-based rock band MiGGs. We opened for Dishwalla, Areosmith, Lifehouse, and Kid Rock. After about a year with them I left to start a solo career. MiGGs was and is a great band, but my own music was tugging at my sleeve. My interests in the music business range from behind the scenes to in front of it. I have worn a few different hats in my music life (I look like a goof in real hats, so I enjoy using this figuratively). I've been a lead guitarist for hire, consulted for bands, produced for artists, been the sound guy, a guitar teacher, open mic host, videographer, photographer, and recorded other musicians. I've taken my experience and knowledge and put together my music and teaching career (micahbeverly.com) So all that you see and hear, I threw together myself. Hope you can appreciate that. I love every aspect of music, from the business end to the creativity side of designing, writing, and performing. I will be somewhere in music, forever. AND done...for now...
Hey Micah: I havn't logged in for a few days and just saw your bulletin..I'm bummed I missed your performance.. I live in Queen Creek AZ and would love to see you perform... Any more dates coming up locally????
moving to west side Phoenix soon, waiting on paperwork for the house. Hopefully we will run into each other soon! I am looking for a band when I get there!
Hello. I just wanted to drop a line to say I am a fan of your work. Your youtube video of Hallelujah remains one of my favorite covers and Midnight is a frequently visited video as well. I look forward to hearing more from you!
Hey Micah! I'm finally pretty much settled here in SoCal and started looking for a new teacher here. I'm not overly impressed with what I've found. You made it so easy to learn (even tho I only got in a couple lessons). If it doesn't work out with a live teacher I may have to hit you up for the video conference thingy you have going. Every time I stop by your profile, your music and talent inspires me! Can't wait for your new album to come out.
hey micah - long time! I found this band called 'culture reject' that's really just one guy and doing looping in a similar way you are.. check out this youtube video of him live @ XM on The Verge: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJF7bxiWpak
Looks like Arizona is producing some fine music! Very nice! Thanks for the add. You are a very talented guy. Best of luck to you with your music, my friend. I'll be listening! Hope you are enjoying your summer. It's hot here too!
