Im 35 years old and I finally found life. A new life, a life in Christ Jesus my solid rock. I was lost in depressin,anger, and sometimes suicidal. I got into things that I tried to soften these problems in my life and yet nothing worked. No matter how hard I tried I was falling deeper and deeper into darkness. When I hit the low point in my life I met a wonderful woman (now my wife) she helped me out enough to climb out of dispare and this past April I was made brand new. Years prior I had locked God in a closet and told Him I didnt need Him and I wanted to do things my way. Thats when all the problems hit. Yet God was knocking on that door. The more He knocked the more I tried to get away to no avail. April,2006 God broke through that closet door. I decided that it was time to let someone take control. God did some cleaning in my life but it wasnt enough. He did a major over haul, remodel of my life. With His help I got rid of alot of junk in my life. Depression was now gone, anger took some time but I made some sacrifices and by His grace anger was soon gone. He has taught me about forgiveness and about trust. I have been able to get through alot of storms now with His trust. It wasnt easy at first but now I can fully trust God to lead me through troubled waters. I am no longer afraid to share my faith. Jesus bore my sin so that I wouldnt have to die a death from being with Him. Nobody forced me in my decision no one threatened me. It was my choice to do so. Jesus died for me and He rose again and with that I will bear His cross and share my happiness in Christ Jesus with anyone who wants to listen. Freedom is accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. I am no longer a slave to depression, anger or sin. I am a new person.
This song Dead Eyes by Feast Eternal is indeed a chilling reminder of a life without God. How many times did I look in the mirror and see my own dead eyes? I was indeed lost I was lonely on the verge of death. Yet out of the darkness a voice called out to me. I ignored it at first then I answered. I didn't find just light I found Jesus Christ standing there with arms open wide waiting to embrace me and welcome me into new life. I saw the nail scars in his wrists I saw the marks in his brow from the crown of thorns that had been placed on his head, the whip marks on his back and with each mark on His body I began to heal. I knew that those marks were meant for me eternal darkness but This man who stands before me bore those so that I could be healed I could be saved. I do not have dead eyes any more but eyes full of life full of fire for Jesus Christ
