Soft, hillside morning dew, campfire memories, swimming, and polar bears.
With his powerful voice and mournful guitar licks, Michael Beauchamp spins beautifully melodic yarns about lost love, discovery, and the playful allure of live music. Beauchamp (pronounced bow as in bow-and-arrow, and shamp as in shampoo without the -oo) is a native of Kalamazoo. He first cut his folk teeth writing, playing, and recording in The Dumb and Ugly Club and The Ambitious Brothers while attending the University of Michigan. Beauchamp writes songs that hearken back to old-time, bluegrass, and the '60's folk revival. He is part of the vibrant and growing Michigan music scene as a member of the Earthwork Music Collective - many of whose members (including the band Breathe Owl Breathe) helped him produce his debut solo album, My Northern Voices, released in 2008. Beauchamp is currently playing all over the Midwest and getting set to record the follow up to ‘Voices.
Thanks for the add. I've heard you play at the Harvest Gathering. I really like your style. Your tune Gamble-Drink All My Money makes me feel like dancin!' Are you playing in Traverse City anytime soon?

Hope all is well for you. Wanted to let you know that I am playing at the Strutt on Wednesday, September 16 with Mark and Russ from Winter/Sessions and Eric Engblade from the band Drake. I would love to see your smiling face in the crowd and perhaps even get you on stage with your mandolin for a song or two...
