"Musician of the Year", "Top Student in Music Achievement", and "Top Guitar 12 Student" are just 3 of the major awards Michael Bemmels received from McMath Secondary in June 2009. Michael Bemmels' 10 years of musical experience began with piano and he has been lead trumpet in the McMath Jazz Band for the past 5 years. Electric guitar, however, is his main musical passion. Michael has much experience performing in the community in rock bands “The Business” and “Decorum,” and has performed and recorded with local pop rock band “Beware the Goldfish.” In addition to his rock bands, Michael also performs as a solo acoustic artist. Surprise, contrast and unexpected direction are hallmarks of Michael’s compositions and recordings. Michael finished recording his first self-produced album titled “Mastermind” in April 2009. He is currently in his first year of music studies at UBC.

On Friday September 4th Torrential Pain will headline this set while First Reign returns after not playing any shows in about 4 months. Nylithia will be awesome as usual and Over the Coals will be kicking off their Western Canadian tour right here in Vancouver. Skullhammer is going to rock a killer set. So last chance to come rock it out with those bands one last time before our beloved Cobalt shut down, so let's make it such an end that it will go down in history.
