Michael Berth is best known as a radio-DJ. He was the showhost of “JAMaican Vibez”, the very popular Reggae-show on JAM FM, Germany’s only nationwide black music-station, for almost 6 years - until the show got cancelled in August 2007 due to changes in the station’s programme schedule…
But first and foremost Michael Berth is a real soundbwoy who plays regularly in Berlin (Kesselhaus, Yaam, Icon, Maria, Fraystil, Bastard,…) and enjoys bookings all over the place in cities like Hamburg, Dresden, Wuppertal, Tübingen, Stockholm…just to name a few!
In addition to that Michael Berth has been in the line-up of festivals like the POPKOMM Reggae Festival or REGGAE JAM for some years.
Either on air or in the club, the love of music is what comes first: modern roots & dancehall, spiced up with a little Ska, Rocksteady, Soca or Reggaeton…depending on what the people request…at the end of the day it all comes down to having the dance ram and everybody enjoy themselves!!
Acting like a ‘one man sound’ you can also catch Michael Berth grabbing the mic and promoting local artists with dubplate-specials!
One thing probably makes him unique among German selectas: his passion for Swedish reggae (big up Mysticman, Kapten Röd, Ras Cricket, Governor Andy…) – det är kärlek!
For quite some time now, Michael Berth has widened his musical horizon, embracing latin music styles such as Reggaeton, Bachata and Salsa - and he can also be booked for those kind of events!
There's no boundaries to the grace and beauty of music, for music is life!
