About MICHAEL BRETT and the FUNDAMENTAL DIFFERENCES
Michael Brett was born on the Upper East Side of NYC and raised in the artist-influenced
community of Roosevelt, NJ.
His first recording, the six-song EP DONE., was released in 1998. Combining rock/pop, folk,
alternative with smidgens of jazz and disco, he drew musical ideas from such diverse acts
as the Beatles, David Bowie, and Gram Parsons.
With his second recording ELECTROPHOBIA, released in 2002, he decided to move in a
different, simpler direction. Trading in the electric guitars and toning down the multi-layered
vocal overdubs a bit, ELECTROPHOBIA is an accurate representation of the rock-folk style he
prefers. Like DONE., the lyrics on ELECTROPHOBIA
are part dark, part whimsical, part sarcastic, but completely personal.
His third CD, entitled IN THE BASEMENT (WITH ROSIE), released in Fall, 2006, is a great representation of how Michael has fine-tuned and honed his songwriting craft over the last four years. Background from Yahoo search result Visit AsburyMusician.com
