All Instruments, recording, production, etc: Michael Cole
Influences
All kinds of places. Jeff buckley, citizen cope, matchbox 20, lifehouse, guster, bob marley, chili peppers, g-love, jack johnson, ben harper, john mayer, CCR, counting crows, etc... But I listen to music from all decades and from all genres. Mostly influences from life, work, friends and family, random people I meet. I just try to get out there and live, and usually I stumble into something worth writing about.

Colorado born Michael Cole entered the music scene in late 2006 with catchy original music, a surprisingly powerful voice, and a refreshing energy that empowers his live performance. Whether he is playing acoustically solo or has a full band backing his talent, his songs are charismatic invitations to view life through his eyes. After traveling half-way around the world and living on the island of O’ahu for the past few years, Michael Cole is back in his home state of Colorado with a unique perspective and matured style. Singer, songwriter, musician, and independent producer, Michael Cole cannot silence the sound he hears inside nor the creative energy that has been building up since he first touched the piano in grade school.
In November 2006, his first independent album, All My Words, was publicly released and has since received airtime on KRFC’s “Live at Lunch” program as well as 99.9 The Point and KCSU radio stations. The debut album has sold hundreds of copies at shows throughout Colorado and off the internet from www.mcolemusic.com and iTunes. Two songs off this thirteen-track album were Top Ten rock contenders in the International Song Writing Competition of 2007. The world has taken notice of Michael Cole and it is just the beginning.
Colorado’s music scene was the first to open its doors for Michael Cole, who has an ever-growing local following and has played gigs, both intimately small and large, at venues such as The Guitar Cellar, University of Colorado, Lucky Joes, Colorado State University, The Pinnacle Theatre., Cricket on a Hill, Everyday Joes, and the Toad Tavern. Every show is an opportunity for Michael Cole to connect with his audience and present a quality of musical entertainment that is accessible and refreshingly meaningful for all those present.
A lover of music, Michael Cole has dedicated every minute of his free time to writing songs, recording in the studio, networking, and making his music available to the public. Not wanting to lose momentum, this driven and multi-talented artist is back in the studio working on a sophomore album. With a more developed, focused musical style and more experience under his belt, Michael Cole is looking to make his mark upon the music scene in 2009.
Michael Cole sounds unlike anyone you have heard before. Ask him to cover your favorite song and you will discover his rare ability to not only do the song justice, but somehow leave you with front-row-and-center goose bumps.
But originality is his forte and he performs his self-written songs with a passion and voice that reminds you that you are in the presence of a true artist: poet, singer, and instrumental performer. Michael Cole excels beyond simply composing and producing great music, he takes the risk to sing autobiographically; exposing his experiences, thoughts, and needs in every verse, without a second thought about it. Listening to his songs leaves you knowing him just as well as he does. True Music.
