Music
I love full-on gospel music. Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir is amazing. I like old school 80's rock, young alt-rock (a-la Bowling For Soup or Yellowcard), bubble-gum pop, The Phantom of the Opera, everything by Chicago or Boston or Journey, big John Williams style movie soundtracks, Christian pop... I've even rediscovered my love for some country music.
Mostly, though, I love to sing. Give me some good gospel or Christian music to sing, stuff that has meaning and heart and soul, and let me loose. I like a lot of todays "secular" music because it has drive and power, but there's nothing better for me than the heart and soul and meaningfullness of a good Gospel song. I'm even learning to play the drums!Movies

Every mom who choses to stay home with her kids, and every dad who toils away and comes home faithfully each night is a hero in my book.
Everyone who takes a moment and thinks of someone else before themselves is a hero.
Parent(s) who adopt children are heroes.
Every person who has ever enlisted in the US armed services and done their time to defend this country is a hero, although cleary - all gave some, but some gave all.
Heroes are all around us, in every day life. They are the ordinary people who make extraordinary differences in the everyday lives of people they know.

About me:
..I'm a 44-year-old father of 3 girls. I start out with that description because, no matter what else I list as an occupation or life-goal, a father is my first and highest calling. I don't lay claim to being a great dad, but I try to do my best.
I love the Lord God, and try to follow Jesus with all my heart. It's a growth process, but as the Bible says, God has started a good work in me that He'll continue to work on until I'm called home to heaven.
I work as a 911-operator and sheriff's dispatcher in order to earn a paycheck, but what I really do for living is work as a minister of Christ. I'm involved in my church music ministry, and absolutely LOVE to sing. Give me anything gospel, christian, somthing that glorifies God and sings to the Lord, and I'm there! I also facilitate a Sunday morning small group bible-study at church. I feel like I'm learning far more from my friends in Bible study than they could ever learn from me, but I must admit - I'm having a blast! Studying during the week, and seeing what the Holy Spirit has in store for us to talk about Sunday morning has been an incredible experience.
