A refreshing new entry on the pop/rock scene, singer/songwriter Michael J Gagliardi made his professional solo debut in the college town of San Marcos, Texas in 2000. A student of music since the age of 7, Michael’s earliest influences were that of Jim Croce, Harry Chapin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Aerosmith, and Guns ’N’ Roses to name a few. As Michael came of age in the 1990s, he refined his own distinctive sound influenced by breakthrough legend The Dave Matthews Band. With powerful vocals and an acoustic electric sound, Michael’s music envelops his audiences and pulls them into his world to relate to his experiences and his passions.
With the Current release of his Debut album, "Overanalyzed", Michael tours the nightclub circuits throughout central Texas and most recently, Atlanta, Georgia. Having grown up in the states of Texas, New York, North Carolina, Wisconsin, and Ohio, Michael has settled on Austin, Texas as his home. "I still refer to home as Austin, TX", Gagliardi says, "I’ve lived all over the U.S. when I was growing up, but there is just something about Austin and its people that offer so much. It doesn’t matter where I am, Austin is definitely where my heart is."
Fans from all corners of the country praise the passion and feeling behind Michael’s songs. His music is heartfelt and genuine. His audiences are treated to an amazing arrangement of lyrics and music intertwined to entice any music lover.
Michael is a graduate of Texas State University, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater, and a minor in Mass Communications. Selected as a national finalist in Austin, Texas in 2003, for the Broadway production of Rent, Michael was invited to audition in New York City, where he placed 2nd for the lead role of Roger. Among his musical accomplishments, he received the first place award for male solo performance in the 2002 Texas State University All-Campus performing arts competition. Film accomplishments include featured extra and stand-in roles in Miss Congeniality, American Outlaws, Infamous and One Last Call.
