Influences
BB King, Santana, Robert Johnson, Derek Trucks, Howlin Wolf, Django Reinhardt,Jimmy Nolan, John Coltrane, Joni Mitchell, Nina Simone, Miles,David Gilmour, Ray Charles, Baden Powell, Jimi Hendrix Experience, Bill Evans,Abdullah Ibrahim, Bird, Stochelo Rosenberg Trio, Monk, Grapelli, Wes Montgomery, Lightnin' Hopkins, Etta James, Marvin Gaye, Al Green, Eric Kraz, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Cream, etc...
I started playing guitar when I was 13 years old, self taught by learning little melodies, riffs, practically anything I could hear I would try and learn note for note. My real passion I discovered though was playing blues and listening to the likes of BB King, Buddy Guy, Elmore James, Howlin’ Wolf and of course Jimi Hendrix. As musical interests go I am particularly fond of jazz in this stage of my playing and hope to develop well while listening to the likes of Wes Mongomery, Bill Evans, Django Reinhardt, Thelonious Monk and many more =)
In my short music career I've been fortunate enough to support such artists as Leela James, Geno Washington and Keith Waithe and am currently playing for upcoming artists Nathan Watson, Charlie Brown and Under Da Poetree and am also part of a house band led by Marc Baptiste where I've played for many underground hip hop artists like Joleon Davenue, Smife, AirKlipz to name a few and a gospel group called Siani. I also lead my own group 'The Bluesmiths Band' which has gained a lot of credibility around london and remains to spread the good sound that is the blues.
I’ve also gigged in places such as Islington Academy, Barfly, The Cuban Bar, 333 Mother Bar,KOKO, The Marquee Club, Grand Clapham Hall, Shorditch House,YOYO,Sound, The Cobden Club, China White, The Pigalle Club and in various other places around London too.
