Jingle and Song Composer, Musician, Performer, Producer, Church Musician, Session Musician, Voice Talent - I try to keep my hands in every musical pie imagineable. By age 3, I was differentiating between John and Paul's voices on Beatle records - major thanks to my siblings for loving the Beatles. I was 'enlisted' into piano lessons in the third grade, the only boy out of a dozen students from my grade (thanks mom). But Sr. Ruth Marie taught me how to play 'chords' - ah yes, those 3-4 note combinations that create a symphonic structure of sound (thank you, Sr. Ruth Marie! And, uh, thank you mom!) In 7th grade, I started to play guitar, stealing chops from friends who were taking lessons (and who actually owned guitars!). I've played in many bands from high school to today: Teju, Sarcasm, The Funyans, Arian, Foolish, The Janes, The Loonan-Nelson Band and 2nd Generation.

Rich, brotherly harmonies, versatile musicianship and original songwriting have captured the attention of fans and musicians throughout the Twin Cities area.
I'm currently a stay-at-home dad, playing solo and duo gigs at night and on the weekends. I'm producing Voice-Over demos in my home studio, and pursuing ongoing work in the Voice-over biz myself. My recent clients include United Health Group, Target Corporation, Famous Dave's and Stars for Science.

In 2007, I composed underscore music for a documentary about Hurricane Katrina survivors from the disabled community.
In addition to recording work, I perform around the Twin Cities, making regular appearances at Axel's Restaurants (Axel's Bonfire & Rudy's Redeye Grille), St. Paul Saint's games, O'Gara's, Pool & Yacht Club and other venues. I'm the proud leader of the "Loony Bin Band" on KSTP-AM's Mischke Broadcast. I produced and played on TD Mischke's debut recording (Better Man) and contributed backup vocals to his 2005 release (Whistle Stop.) In 2006, I played guitar for TD's band at the Minnesota State Fair Grandstand Stage for the Prairie Home Companion Show (which was a blast!) I perform regularly for weddings, corporate events and private parties, including group singalong get-togethers. I have a great duo partner in Chris Herriges - check out our site at www.bestmusicduo.com . I also play regularly with 'dueling piano players,' and can bring a dueling piano show to an event or party. For more information and to hear and buy CDs, visit my site: www.michaelloonan.com.

Hello Michael what interesting news about your job. Keep the rent paid so you can keep pursuing your art. That's what I'm doing too (minus the art, lol). Have a beautiful and peaceful day and keep up the great music ... and work.

I was going to go camping over the weekend, but this is definitely NOT camping weather. So me and some friends went to check out Dueling Pianos. Those guys are amazing - they can play just about any song that's been on the radio between 1950 and 2005.
Speaking of music, I wanted to let you know about a show we have @ Station 4 on Friday, October 16th. We are debuting a project called Sonic Transformations. It is a series of audio-visual performance pieces. The first one is called "AN OBJECT TO CRAVE". It features live music and visuals based on a short story about life, love, loss, fantasy, obsession and death.
Another group of mine, The Magnetrons, which plays an exciting and innovative Livetronica set (i.e. STS9, Disco Biscuits, The Histronic) will also be playing. The night will be full of creative, interesting, high-energy music, good drinks and good times.

Since you seem to have good taste in music and live around the cities, I wanted to let you know about our show next Thursday, February 26th. We will be burning down the house at Trocaderos Nightclub in Minneapolis (107 3rd Ave N). If you've been there before, I don't have to tell you it's one of the best venues in the Twin Cities - classy atmosphere, great drinks, and the sound is always fantastic. "The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed." -Albert Einstein
Hope everything is going well with you in your world.
It's been a pretty exciting time for us in ours.

Also, we've just launched our new YouTube channel.
