Michael Munzer – Vocals/Guitar
Mike graduated from C.W. Post College in the ‘80’s with a B.A. in Music Education. He studied classical guitar and voice and performed with many of the college’s vocal groups in venues like Carnegie Hall, Merkin Hall and a tour of Europe. Throughout college he was an active solo and duo performer playing all the popular wine and cheese café’s throughout Long Island. After graduating he decided to build a business career starting with what has to be a guitar player’s “dream job”. For seven years he worked for J. D’Addario & Co. (the world’s leading maker of guitar strings and musical accessories) as sales and marketing manager. Among his responsibilities were endorsee relations where he got to meet the most influential guitarists around – very cool.
In the summer of 2005 he decided to become more involved with the music scene on Long Island’s East End by performing regularly as a solo act at many of the wineries on Long Island’s North Fork. By 2007 Mike decided to expand his solo work into a trio setting as well adding Doug Morrow (a long time band mate from Rocky Point’s St. Anthony’s folk group) and Scott O’Hare (a musical friend of Doug’s). The groove and harmony began and the trio is now gigging in many directions – sweet.
Mike still considers himself an acoustic guitar “junkie” with a small collection of beauties. Mike is a partner in the Sandler Sales Institute of Hauppauge, NY helping to develop the sales forces of many Long Island-based companies. He resides in Miller place with his wife Renee and daughters Stephanie and Emily.
Doug Morrow – Traps/Percussion – The East End Trio
After attending the Berklee School of Music, Doug moved to New York City. He worked as a composer and percussionist for soundtracks and jingles, and performed in a variety of live situations. He has had the opportunity to work with some of New York’s finest players.
Doug expanded his work into television production and formed D.A.M. Video Inc. to provide a variety of music and visual production services. He has worked with such clients as HBO, NBC, Madison Square Garden, Jim Henson Productions, United Nations Television and PBS. Since 1998 Doug has taught as an Assistant Professor of Television Production at Hofstra University in the department of Radio, Television and Film.
On a personal note, Doug (a beach bum) moved his home from NYC to Rocky Point. He lives with is wife Diane and his son Antonio. Doug is known for his strong groove with a light touch along with having a good time on the band stand.
Scott O’Hare – Bass/vocals – The East End Trio
Scott has been a rock n' roller since age 14 when he acquired his first electric guitar. He studied music theory and composition at Oberlin College and SUNY New Paltz, where he graduated with a double major in Math and Music. He now has a doctorate in Math and a career in software development. Over the years, he worked with a number of bands as guitarist/vocalist, and also performed for several recent seasons as a tenor with the Stony Brook Chorale. Scott currently resides in Baiting Hollow with his wife Janet, where he runs a small, hi-tech recording studio. His Mom thinks he's a genius..!
