It's folk music in the same way Denison Witmer or Great Lake Swimmers is folk music and it's rock music in the same way Jackson Browne is rock music. Honestly, it probably sounds like a hobby.
Did you know that the first popular music I remember liking was Phil Collin's "Another Day in Paradise". Say what you want, but I loved that song. And I still think it's a good song....
That and Simon and Garfunkel's Greatest Hits. Genius....
