plus so much more
which makes it a struggle struggle to find
direct influences. Music is my passion but everyday can provide a new influence
on my writing
This is the year it is going to happen. You see I have this clear vision of a dream and it is time to make it real.
I dream not of fame although I would love to have it. I dream of being able to create the best music I can and being able to dedicate all my working hours to that task.
I wake thinking music and fall asleep dreaming music. I want to be an acoustic artist who is influenced by the genius of old such as Paul Weller, Bob Dylan and Cat Stevens, while incorporating the beauty of modern acoustic musicians such as Thomas Dybdahl, Kings of Convenience and Scott Matthews. Then, stir it all up with my love for bands such as the Maccabees, Kasabian and Radiohead.
I've not set myself an easy task, some may say impossible. Maybe I will never realise my dream. However see the start of it here and please join my journey.
hey, hope you're well. not sure if you got my message from your website but just wanted to double check to 20th of september gig? i'm deffinitely free to do it if you still need me? xx
Wilfy Williams announces his first solo gig supporting the world famous Alabama3 at Dirty South in London on Saturday 22nd December 2007. Alabama3 are the best live band in the country(The Guardian) who wrote Woke Up This Morning, theme tune to the hit show The Sopranos.
With Wilfy supporting its sure to be a night to remember. The Pompey Busker is a man on a mission to put English music back where it belongs at the pinnacle of the music world. He’s been attracting support from some of the most influential and talented people in the business. With his genius lyrics and epic guitar solos, the demos on myspace offer a solid, if minimal glimpse of the entertainer and performer that is Wilfy Williams.
You may remember Wilfy Williams from such previous songwriting favourites as:
STAR IN THE CROWD(Daily) THE WHO(Daily) ADAMANT(The Fret) A DIFFERENT SOUND(The Fret) &More Recently A NEW BEGINNING(Wilfy Williams).
His new tune HEAVEN THROUGH YOUR EYES was recorded with his friend and mentor Phil Owen(old school Pompey Busker) who has passed his ‘hat’ and his wisdom on to Wilfy. The song is available to download for free only on myspace.
