STORY:
Growing up in Lima, Ohio, Michael was raised in a Christian home by a loving mother and father. He is the oldest of nine children, who at the age of four, received Christ as his Savior, and began listening to music. A few of his favorite records came by great artists such as Edwin Hawkins, Andre Crouch, Larnell Harris, and many others. Michael’s mother remembers how he would often sit and listen to these favorites for hours. It was apparent, even at the ripe age he had an ear for music. By the age of twelve he had bought his first guitar from a friend down the street, a Truetone for $4.
Michael graduated from Lima Senior High in 1995. For the next 12 years he would continue to develop his songwriting abilities drawing in from influence such as Susan Ashton, Fred Hammond, Steven Curtis Chapman, and Wayne Kirkpatrick. His music ministry was growing both inside and outside the Christian music industry. In October 2008 he appeared on WTLW TV 44's Live Wire, for a local talent show. This feature gave an opportunity for many doors to open in Michael’s career.
By May 2008 his first album Breakthru! Songs of Deliverance, was released and featured in the Lima News. The opportunities continued when he entered a local talent competition and won best songwriter. His radio jingle, “Everyday Is A Happy Day”, written for the Happy Daz restaurants, can be heard throughout the Northwest Ohio region. You can also visit http://www.happydaz.com.
Michael now resides in Franklin, TN where he uses his talent to minister to churches and organizations across Tennessee. He currently serves Fathers House Covenant Church ministering on acoustic guitar with Pastor Kraig Wall. Most recently he was recognized as Puckett’s Rising Star's semi finalist, and was nominated as People's Favorite.
