Music, Arts, anything creative!! Relaxing when ever possible! Hearing peoples stories - the things we've been through make us who we are. Telling your stories and listening to other's stories is therapeutic for all involved. Sometimes just that outlet is enough to change your perspective and make the impossible seem not that bad. feel free to e-mail me at anytime, I'll listen.
And art -- I love to see the way people express themselves, be it through acting, music, painting, writing, tattooing, etc. In time I will have set up a way to post my artwork and the art work of anyone willing to let me post it!
Music
I have a taste for most everything: Heavy (Slayer,Megadeth), Classical (Bach,Mozart), Country (Dwight Yokam,
Chris LeDoux), Bluegrass (Alison Krauss & Union Station), New Age (Yanni,Enya), Rock (U2,John Mellencamp), Punk (Buzzcocks,Ramones) etc, etc. What ever the genre, it has to have soul and meaning; otherwise it's just plan crap!!! And that I can't stand!! But if I need to pick just one type of sound I relate to most it would be Metal (be it Death Metal, Thrash Metal, Classic Metal, etc). Here are just a couple of my favorite bands:
I also love to play music: I'm training at a local guitar shop "PLAYERS ROW" with a great teacher with decades of experience. Please check out their website at www.playersrow.com If you live in the NEPA area, please stop in and check out what they've got!!
Movies
SCI-FI: The new stuff - The Matrix, Lord of the Rings, Stardust, etc.
And the Classics - E.T., The Last Star Fighter, Tron, Blade Runner, They Live, etc.
COMEDIES: Blazing Saddles, (anything Mel Brookes did), The Monty Phyton Movies. Tommy Boy (Long Live Chris's Spirit!!!), Caddyshack, Billy Madison, and Yellowbeard!!
HAHA.
But mostly I watch Cinderella, Spirit the Stallion of the Cimarron, Disney Princess-Enchanted Tales, and The Little Mermaid. I guess that happens when you have a two year old daughter!!
Television
It all sucks!!!! Only PBS documentaries tell what can be considered the 'Truth'.
And MythBusters is cool, **KARI BYRON RULES** And ok I like Battlestar Galactica and Dr. Who, But I hate the Sci-Fi channel, They keep throwing away good shows, like Farscape, The Invisible Man, First Wave, Etc. So TV is still crap!! (same goes for Cartoon Network - where is Samurai Jack!!!)
Call me way behind the times - But I was just introduced to one of the best sci-fi shows ever!!! "Firefly"!! Just another example of an excellent idea with superb acting and production - screwed by some jackass big business thinking! The show died way to young!!!! (Thanks FOX!!!)
and this classic is a favorite of mine:

Books
Books -- I love to read. mostly fantasy, fiction, or sci-fi. but really anything I get into I like to finish. Some books I recommend are = "The Time Travelers Wife" by Audrey Niffenegger, "I Know this Much is True" by Wally Lamb, "A Game of Thrones" by George R.R. Martin.
Most of the "Dragonlance"series, King's Dark Tower series, all of Tolken's works: including "Roverandom"
I also recommend "Extraordinary Dogs, inspirational stories of dogs with disabilities", this is a book of true stories about dogs that have disabilities and their families. (My dog, Samm, has his story in that book!!) Please read it if you get the chance!
Another way to enjoy stories is by downloading Podcasts. There are some excellent writers and "Actors" out there. Check out "Crescent" by Phil Rossi or "The Failed City Monologues" by Matt Wallace. And if you like a spin on some classics go to www.darkerprojects.com or www.brokensea.com
Heroes
Everyone who served !!!!
AND THE NEWEST HERO IN MY LIFE : MY DAUGHTER RYLEIGH
About me:
Ok it's time to get serious!! There are a lot of thing I want tp get done here.
By the way Foxgorsus is no longer necessary, The Harvester Is Back!!!
Who I'd like to meet:
These are some of my favorite characters! Dark Phoenix, Roland, Wolverine, The Arch Angel - Michael, Samurai Jack!. And I'm sure there are lots more characters I'd like to meet; but when it comes right down to it, it may be cool to meet famous people or rich people, but if you don't connect with them on any level what does it really mean? I've met a lot of influential people in my life - some directly, some through friends of mine; and it was nice and fun, but few of those meetings have created any lasting friendships. What I would really enjoy is time set aside for the people in my life and heart that have connected to me in deep ways. Life continues and people drift, but these people will alway be welcome in my world! And it would be very nice to sit down and catch up on new stories! Not to mention reminisce on old stories we shared. Those types of connections are the meaning of life, I believe that in my soul.
There are people that have passed on to the other side. These people will be missed by all who knew them and loved them. Until we see each other again. God Bless.
I am honored to be able to pay tribute to several of them here
"To Those That Have Reached The Clearing At The End Of The Path":
Please let me add a new chapter to this "Meeting people" stuff. I'm starting to run into some really interesting people out there! Inspirational, Inspiring, the list goes on. As I plod through my work weekends and deal with problems and more work during the week, I forget how good I really have it. I complain that I have no time or patience! Well, some of these interesting people are showing me what you can really do with this life if you focus on the good and shed the trouble. As I can I will post some of their work here, possibly to inspire all of you who read this!!!
Here is the first to make my list! Sungha Jung = a nine year old boy from Korea. NINE! and already this good! Now, what can you do!!! Think about it!
Well, if you've come this far -- Please by all means leave a comment!! I love to hear from people, and it makes me feel like someone is actually listening to me!! HAHA
