Michael Shilakes is a singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist from Taylor, Michigan who performs at bars and coffeehouses around the Detroit and Ann Arbor area. He got his start at an early age as the frontman for the band Quarter Crank and used his time there to develop his distinct formula for songwriting and build his high-powered stage persona.
Since he hit the scene 10 years ago Michael has amassed an impressive resume performing over 120 shows last year alone. He has recieved countless awards and honors including winning songwriting contests for television's WDIV and radio station WDRQ which provided him trip to Los Angeles to attend the Grammy awards.
Michael's latest venture was started as an opportunity for Michael to expand his sound and explore a wider spectrum of music styles finding the perfect balance between energy and intamacy. His solo performances are very much audience centered, with a loose structure and focus on participation that keeps fans engaged and having fun. Michael Shilakes' music is something that you MUST EXPERIENCE!

you should probably do everything u can to play this... it'll be awesome exposure..you dont get paid.. but its a bad ass gig and you get your name in the metro times. so let me know asap because the people running the show need to start sending out the press kits and so i can send u the written agreement..
