Originally a member of the moody, shoe-gaze band, The Veldt, Simone went on to spend the first part of the millennium enjoying massive success under the name Lovesky. His single "Drums 4 Better Daze" sold record amounts of vinyl and appeared on various definitive DJ mix CDs. Worldwide praise followed from DJs, producers and dancers alike for his unique production style of rhythmic tracks dripping with stark emotion and featuring his own vocals and live instrumentation. However, a quarter of a million units later, the four on the floor and Rave culture found Simone at creative loose ends. "I'd walk out from playing these parties with a box of records, devestated that it had not been a guitar and amp instead."
Mashing the breaks on Lovesky and relocating to New York, Simone began playing local venues as a singer / songwriter until eventually forming the post punk outfit Seems So Bright. One album and 2 e.p's later, Simone decided it was time to take a much needed break from singing and writing and focus on producing the work of local songstress Jennifer Glass. The result would morph into their current creative partnership as Starling Crush, and a full length album "Tea Leaves, Murder and Dreaming."
So it's with all of those wheels in motion, Simone finally getting back to basics,
adding a new found love of country and 70's FM into the mix. "I've gotten away from the computer, just me and an acoustic, 13 songs I'm going to hash out, play out, revise and then record. It's a start of going somewhere, and it's honest."
