What a wonderful topic, Interests. I strongly believe, the use of leisure is vital to the human experience. I studied Recreation while attending Purdue for my undergraduate degree. I have worked as a Recreation Therapist in psychiatric hospitals for over 17 years. I am very interested in people's leisure. Because of this I have had to become a generalist in regards to activities. I am hopelessly mediocre at a lot activities and a specialist at none. Here are some of my interest:
Adventure Racing - I competed in the 2002 Wild Onion Adventure Race Indianapolis. My team the Flying Moose adventure Society came in 39th out of 50 teams.

Backpacking Over 800 Miles with a pack on my back
Bonsai Styling trees over 8 years, so Im still a novice
Bookmaking I have a strange compulsion to make my own book totally from my own hands

Flying My wife, a pilot and flight instructor, has given me a new passion. She has given me 8 hours of lessons, but doesn't devote as much effort to me as she did with her paying clients. She now works for the FAA.
Freemasonry I was raised in June of 2005 in the lodge of my Grandfather and Great Grandfather. It has become a strong passion of mine. I have joined The Blue Lodge, The Scottish Rite and the York Rite. One of the best things I have ever done or joined. I greatly enjoy visiting other lodges.
My New Book: Butterfly Tai Chi: Health, Energy and Tranquility in 10 Minutes a Day
Description
The author was inspired by observing butterflies to develop a system of Tai Chi that could be performed in a limited space and within a relatively short time. He designed Tai Chi movements that naturally enhance the Qi flow in the order directed by Chinese medicine and whilst it can be used to treat a wide variety of illnesses, its real power is in preventing illness. Succinct and effective the reader can learn this form of Tai Chi within a day and can be performed anywhere -no matter how little space available.

Hey Mike. I did take Ellie to see Madagascar 2 this past weekend for her third birthday. She enjoyed it and so did I. I'm glad to hear someone else likes those movies as much as us. I had someone tell me they thought the movie was inappropriate for children! I just shook my head, couldn't even respond.
Study what thou art, whereof thou art a part, what thou knowest of this art, this is really what thou art. All that is without thee is also within, thus wrote Trismosin Splendor Solis

Nice to hear from you, and yes, the state system is very...very much differant than anything else...but I learned to love it and would still be there if it were here! The valle is still the valle...someday, I will find greener ..and calmer pastures!
You are welcome for the add. Things are fine. Cats and dog are all fine. My department has grown, I now have 2 full time staff and 2 part time staff and even one PRN. Amazing when I think back to being the only FTE with Danae part time. We have 3 of our employed Docs now and still have Bose and Patel. Treatment teams run from 9 -12:30 usually. Makes me want to head bang:):):)
Oregon...wow, fellow traveler! I like Portland, but that's really the only city I've been to in Oregon. Since Purdue I've lived in North Carolina, Nebraska, Chicago, Boston and now Nashville. You are right, college seems like eons ago.
