Se il cielo ti ha donato una fantasia viva, ti capitera' spesso di sedere per ore al pianoforte come incantato, e di voler esprimere il tuo mondo interno in armonie. Allora ti sentirai attratto in un cerchio magico da una forza tanto piu' misteriosa quanto meno chiaro magari e' ancora per te il regno delle armonie. Sono ore felici della gioventu' queste. Ma intanto guardati bene dall'abbandonarti troppo spesso a un talento che ti induce a dissipare forze e tempo seguendo una sorta di gioco di ombre cinesi. Il dominio della forma, la capacita' di articolarla con nettezza si possono raggiungere soltanto grazie al preciso segno delle note. Preoccupati percio' piu' di scrivere che di improvvisare.

TAMBOUR BATTANT, une forme plurielle de Breakbeats (drum & bass, hip hop, dancehall …), délivre un album intéressant, « The Missing Link » artisanal, dynamique et contemporain.
Tambour Battant : Ben et Nico n’auraient pas pu mieux choisir leur nom. Tous deux etant batteurs de formation. Tambour Battant s’épanouit ici dans une forme plurielle de Breakbeats. « The Missing Link » fait la synthèse de quatre années de lives. Bien sûr, on retrouve leur morceau étendard « Atomik Circus », mais soigneusement remixé par leurs soins, pour pimenter le plaisir de cet évident rdv. À contrario du format vinyle, le duo a resserré la durée des morceaux pour faciliter l’accessibilité et le confort d’une écoute « à la maison ». En ressort une forte impression de relief : lignes mélodiques (le duo reste impressionné par les tissages mélodiques de Radiohead) et additions de gimmicks. Un flux d’émotions aux variations tenaces, empruntes de légèreté, de clins d’oeil et même d’humour En 17 morceaux, Tambour Battant sort donc des figures de style qu’impose « une Drum & Bass trop puriste », en conservant le meilleur de son efficacité et de sa rythmique frontale.
