Depuis un certain temps, l'idée de créer un nouveau projet me hantait. Je suis curieux de nature et j'avais le goût d'explorer et d'approfondir la chanson en français, une première pour moi! Kim Gaboury, qui coréalise l’album, m’a beaucoup appuyé dans ce projet.

Au fil des recherches, qui ont duré deux ans, et d'expériences passionnantes en équipe, l'idée m'est venue d’inventer un espace musical où chaque participant du projet Cusson-Mervil-Montcalm pourrait se dépasser. J'ai d'abord composé des musiques et invité mes amis Térez et Luck à se joindre à moi. Leurs timbres de voix uniques et leurs personnalités m'ont grandement inspiré. Chacun d'eux a pris la plume pour mettre des mots sur ma musique.

Aujourd’hui, je suis heureux de vous faire partager mon premier grand projet en chanson.

For some time, the idea of a new project had been haunting my thoughts. I am curious by nature, and I had the itch to explore and delve deeper into French music...a first for me! Kim Gaboury, who co-developed the album, greatly supported me in this project.

Throughout the research, which lasted two years, and fuelled by the team’s passion, the idea came to me to invent a musical sphere where all those part of the Cusson-Mervil-Montcalm project could surpass themselves. And so I began composing music and soon invited my friends Térez and Luck to join me. Their unique voices and personalities inspired me immensely. Both offered their lyrics to my music.

Today, I am ecstatic to be able to share with you my first big undertaking in song.

BIO Michel Cusson began composing at the age of fifteen, and soon after founded the legendary group UZEB. They released 10 award-winning albums and went on to tour more than 22 countries during their 12 year career.

Never resting on his laurels, Michel went on to found the critically-acclaimed group Wild Unit in the early 1990s, releasing two world-music influenced albums.

The scores Michel Cusson has composed for film reveal his passion for all musical genres. They have raised the bar of Quebec industry standards, quickly making Michel one of the most sought-after composers in Canada.

Michel has composed music for a significant number of films, among others Luc Dionne (Aurore), Claude Desrosiers (Dans une Galaxie Pres de Chez Vous), Pierre Houle (Monica la Mitraille), Charles Biname (Seraphin: Heart in Stone and Maurice Richard), as well as Jean Beaudin (Le Collectionneur), Stephen Low's IMAX documentaries (Volcanoes of the Deep Sea and Fighter Pilot: Operation Red Flag). He has also contributed to a host of foreign projects, notably in the United Kingdom (My First Wedding), in France (Pere et fils), and Israel (Metallic Blues). In addition, he has signed the score of many mega-shows, including Cavalia and Legendes Fantastiques and, most recently, the new Shanghai craze, ERA: Intersection of Time (Erick Villeneuve).

As a composer, guitar player and multitalented musician, Michel has made his mark among the greats of the Quebec film industry and now dedicates himself to the true love of his life composing music scores.
