Dredging, petting my kitties Mochi and Tiki and Robert. Damn, I have a cute family!!! There's this one hot guy that does rail slides for me just to score points (it TOTALLY works... every time!!). I like beautiful things. Not just classically beautiful things, but things that make me do a double take and then pause for a moment. Could be a flower growing in the crack of the sidewalk, a spider web sparkling in the sun or the way someone parts their hair. I love Brown Sugar Cinnamon Pop Tarts once a year. I like tiki bars, dive bars and other bars, art, colors, love, fun, design, flowers, painting, music, cooking & baking, dancing, photobooths, tiki culture, Hawaiiana (and Hawaii!!!), Polynesian Pop, cocktail culture, hula girls, bowling, glitter, wearing big flowers in my hair, pin-up hair styles, old Vegas-y stuff, hats, mid-century design and architecture, kitchen stuff from the 40's & 50's, Witco anything, (rusty) old hot rods, rat rods, metal flake, bamboo, leopard print and the combination of mozzarella cheese, extra-virgin olive oil, tomatoes and basil... with a pinch of salt and pepper.
Music
Three Times One Minus One!! Ewww, girl, ewww. Skankin' Pickle! Stevie Wonder, oh sweet Stevie Wonder... And now in no particular order... The "Nutcracker Suite" (it's always Christmas time in my head) and "Swan Lake" by Tchaikovsky, Amon Tobin, DJ Hive, Bjork, Ella Fitzgerald, Brian Setzer, Otis Redding, Wanda Jackson, Carl Perkins, Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, Screamin' Jay Hawkins, Les Paul (he's a person, not a guitar) and Mary Ford's Hawaiian music, The Mermen, Buddy Guy, Sigor Ros, The Hi-Q's, The B-52's, Link Wray, Fugazi, Dani Siciliano, Herb Alpert, The Stylistics, Portishead, Desmond Dekker, Count Bassie, Don Tiki, The Treblemakers, T-Bone Walker, Ween, Solomon Burke, Louis Prima, Keely Smith, Earth Wind and Fire, Three Bad Jacks, Ratatat, Led Zeppelin, Tool, Martin Denny, Barrington Levy, the Shangri-Las, The Aquamarines, Max Roach, Bootsy Collins, Johnny Otis, Johnny Cash, Johnny Rotten, Curtis Mayfield, both Reverends (that's Horton Heat and Al Green), Benny Goodman, Analyst, Fannypack ("Bacon fat, never wack!"), Prince, The Bad Plus, Arthur Lyman, M. Ward, George Clinton in all his incarnations, Minor Threat, Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, Sir Duke, Coltrane, The Frisky Frolics, Big Sandy and His Fly-Rite Boys, The Phenomenauts, Radiohead, Bessie Smith, Sweet Hollywaiians, John Fahey, Art Blakey, Lionel Richie, Nina Simone, Yes, Soda Pop Fuck You, Sevara Navarakhan, Rjd2, Prefuse 73, K + D, Betty Davis (not the one with the eyes, but Miles Davis' wife... she makes her funk extra funky!!!), Rose Royce, Solomon Burke, James Brown, old Isley Bros, too many other old soul/ R+B/ funk artists to list, The Smiths, DD, English Beat, Madness, Adam and The Ants, DM, The Cure, Siouxie and all that other cool stuff from back in the day, Natacha Atlas, Tabla Beat Science, DJ Cheb I Sabah, Hindi movie soundtracks, bhangra music and other music with tablas, sitar, etc. Also, I am not afraid to admit that I love, Love, LOVE Hall and Oates, although I'm not a Man Eater. This is but a tiny sample.
Movies
Army of Darkness, Airplane I and II, Hollywood Shuffle, Kung Pow!, Pooty Tang, Mafia, Spinal Tap, Top Secret, Big Lebowski, Transylvania 6-5000, History of the World I and II, Kentucky Fried Movie, and Full Metal Jacket. Some other favorites... 2001, The Shining, A Clockwork Orange (there seems to be a theme here), Pee Wee's Big Adventure, Apocalypse Now, Casablanca, Sabrina (the old one with Audrey and Humphrey), Funny Face (with Audrey and Fred Astaire). Soylent Green and Blade Runner are old favorites as well.
Television
Sylvia Browne Wednesdays, Ab Fab, Strangers With Candy, Southpark, the New Detectives and the Daily Show were some of my favorites, but I'm sans cable now-a-days... I love Saturdays on the PBS station- all cooking shows, all day- which after watching, I will cook somethin' fancy. Also, before the cooking shows I watch "That's So Raven." I believe Raven-Symone is the Lucille Ball of her generation And Kids in the Hall, what a great show that was.
Books
Just finished a REALLY funny, dark and morbid book called "A Dirty Job." It's about "death merchants" in San Francisco. I recommend it to people who can have a bit of a sense of humor about death and what may happen to our souls around the time of our departures from this mortal coil. Intrigued? Right now I'm reading "Animal Farm"... again. Some others... "RATS- Observations on the History and Habitat of the City's Most Unwanted Inhabitants". Before that was "Happy Baby" by Stephen Elliott on a friend's recommendation. What a wonderfully sad story. Very touching. Loved the book "Stiff"... it's a scientific book about what happens to bodies after death, i.e. crash test dummies, medical disection, decomposition research at the 'Body Farm', canabalism, cremation, burial, etc. It's a really interesting book, and actually written in quite an entertaining and funny way, considering the subject matter and all. I'm also in love with every David Sedaris book out there. You can't kill the motherfuckin' rooster, hoss! "Wigfield" is a super funny book written by Amy Sedaris, Steven Colbert and Paul Dinello. Hilarious. I recommend it.
Heroes
Mi familia y mi Roberto. Regular people who work really hard so that the rest of us can have easier lives. Thank you for that. I appreciate you all.

I am good at opening things on account of my pipes and superpowers. One night I dreamed of Duran Duran and the DPT chalking my tires... the next day I heard "Wild Boys" and got a parking ticket. I have yet to fully embrace the fact that I can do whatever I want. I am loyal to a fault. I was a dancer for 23 years. I bust out a pirouette, cartwheel or time step on occasion. I love betting on the ponies. For whatever reason, I really love the song "Right Down The Line" by Gerry Rafferty. I have said that I wish my hair was straight, but that isn't true. I have these really awesome friends that make me so happy I could cry. I'm friends with ex-boyfriends (mine and other people's). I want to read more. I need to wear my glasses more. If I put those last two things together, I could rule the world. I believe the song "Dreamer" by Supertramp was written the night I was born and therefore, is about me. Crime of the Century... great prog-rock album, by the way. Come to think of it, "Breakfast in America" might be a better album...hmmm. Elvis was a hero to most but he never meant shit to me. I sometimes quote Public Enemy songs. My Grandma used to tell my brother and me, "If you can't be good, be careful." This was, and still is, the best advice anyone has ever given me. I love to paint and collage and write and make jewelry. Nothing frustrates me more than when I'm not inspired to paint or collage or write or make jewelry. My brother is my biggest artistic cheerleader. He's a genius... a brilliant photographer. Check out quainphoto.com and QUAINPHOTO on Myspace. Hey Bro, sorry about ripping your Boba Fett poster when I was 7. My incredible Robert is also a photographer. He's just as brilliant as my brother, but with his own thing going on. I love your style, darlin'! Check out roberthatchphoto.com. That gene that allows people to work in an office with little walls called "cubicles" is not in my genetic make up. I'm a floral designer... been doing this for about 8 years now. Once a day I get distracted by a flower. I can't lie... this happens at least 6 times a day, everyday. Sometimes the same flower will get me twice in one day. The soundtack of my life could be composed entirely of songs by Bjork, Ella Fitzgerald and Led Zepplin... starting with "Oceania", ending with "In My Time of Dying". I want to be someone's muse. I want to make people laugh. I am sometimes sassy. Apparently, I have no problem talking about myself at length. I like to eat candy and other sugary treats. And cheese. Cheese is delicious. I believe in miracles (where you from?), unicorns and love. I have two adorable kittens. Their names are Mochi and Tiki. They are crazy cute, so lovely and a couple of my favorite things!
Who I'd like to meet: Could he really be out there? Well, in fact he is. And I found him... at a bar. A dive bar. He had a cool hat on. And a stunning smile on. And blue eyes that reflected the PBR he was drinking. He whispers chipmunks sounds into my ear... or dolphin sounds, whichever I ask for. He is sweet, creative, kind, gorgeous, thoughtful, romantic, fun, funny, mine. We are so much more than compatible that there isn't even a word for it. I happen to be the luckiest girl in the world. He is so beautiful that when I look at him my eyes and my face melt like when the Nazis opened the ark and Indie was like "DON'T LOOK AT IT! DON'T LOOK AT IT!!!"
I'd like to meet other people who can appreciate the awesomeness of this video and song. Really, 'cuz you're cool.
