Television
...should be what it used to be...cartoon cat and mouse violence in the mornings, at noon and in the afternoon...because there's no way that, compared to what's on the tube these days, it could have been that detrimental to a kid that it needed to be taken off...OH! and I'll watch anything on the BBC.

Dante's Inferno, The Prince by Machiavelli, any Anne Rice books, any Stephen King books, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Pablo Neruda, Isabel Allende, Sidartha Gautama, Henry David Thoreau, Walt Whitman, any Pablo Coelho book, The Devil In The White City, Rebecca, The Wind In The Willows, The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, Beautiful Monsters, Flowers For Algernon, Nathaniel Hawthorne, any and almost ALL Shakespear, Percy Shelley, Elizabeth Barret Browning, Edgar Allen Poe, Mary Shelley...
Heroes
My hero would be anyone who has faced adversity in their life and risen above it(and there are those in my life who have)...and Steve McQueen ('cause no one can drive a car like that mutha did in 'Bullit')...and of course...of course...Charles Bronson.
And since I'm very proud of the neighborhood where I was born...
About me: Passionate. Charismatic. Strong. Motivated. Intrigued by life and its unravelling intricacies. In love with people and the notion of personal values stemming from personal experience. Existentialist. Intrigued by each and every individual personality, their charm, their aura and their worth. Driven to uncover the beauty in everything and everyone. Intellectual. Optimist in mind, depressed that life often gets in the way of freedom and happiness. Honest and open. Nurturer, always living for others, forgetting I am here for myself. My friends mean the absolute world to me. Social proweress. Seek to please, make others smile. Forever inclined to excel, if not in practice, at least in mind. Organization freak, although only in some tenets. Angry about my past, determined to overcome it and feel empowered by it. Sensitive. Open-minded. Intense communicator. Intense thinker, my mind is constantly running. Jack Daniel's is my vice. Childish and very affectionate when alone with close ones. In need of good friends, people who know me, people to share life with. I am the proudest Chicagoan you'll ever meet. Tickled by pretty girls and boys, their charm and talents. Turned off by fake, irrational people. I achieve my goals better when under pressure. GOOD MUSIC BLOWS MY MIND IN A WAY NOTHING ELSE CAN. Constantly searching out new life experiences and good people. Down to earth. Sarcastic dry humor. Passionate about what drives me... that being my family, friends, music, and the politics of "being". Afraid to be alone, yet eager to live for myself. If I dont stop now... there will be nothing left for intrigue!
Who I'd like to meet: People who I can be friends with and who understand that it's ok not to understand, people who agree that the 'Soul Train Line' was the best part of the show, people who don't mind that I am almost always wearing a red headband, people who understand that I usually insert obscure references into my conversations and they actually get them, people who make good analogies...'cause I'm damn good at that ;), someone who understands when I say that 'music is the key to my salvation' and dubstep is 'music I've been waiting all my life to hear...and I didn't even know it'...
