I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at the University of California, Davis, and began my career at the National Institute of Standards and Technology's Computer Security Division, and DARPA's High Confidence Systems Working Group, before being hired by the Counter Terrorist Unit, Los Angeles branch as an Internet Protocol Manager.
With my position as internet protocol manager, I assisted colleagues Tony Almeida and Jack Bauer in preventing a nuclear bomb threat to the country. This was when I first admitted my feelings for Tony and he reciprocated. We began dating shortly after that day.
In the three years after this threat, Tony and I were married and I was promoted to become an intelligence agent while Tony became the CTU Special Agent in Charge. After his near-fatal shooting, however, I had to step up to lead CTU despite my stress over Tony's accident. After Tony recovered speedily - and when Division agent Ryan Chappelle was sent to CTU to overlook events - I joined a field team with Gael Ortega to go to the Chandler Plaza Hotel where a terrorist was planning to release a fatal, and contagious, virus. Although no HAZMAT suits had arrived, me, followed by the others in a show of loyalty, went inside to assist the hotel's security in containing the virus which was released. Most of the guests, staff and CTU personnel died over the following hours, however, I was one of few who did survive. But, shortly after that, the terrorist, Stephen Saunders, kidnapped me in order to force Tony to do his bidding which included helping Saunders escape while surrounded by CTU personnel. I was stunned to learn what Tony had done to save me. He was put in prison for treason for putting my well being above that of the country's.
In the time that followed, Tony was released from prison - on the good testimony of Jack Bauer and outgoing President David Palmer - but his unemployment and situation saw his personality change, and a dependence on alcohol form. I reluctantly decided to leave him and was temporarily posted to Seattle's CTU branch where I met Bill Buchanan, a high-ranking official, and we began a relationship. I was then posted back to Los Angeles, to Division where I became an Associate Special Agent in Charge.
Two years later, Tony's help was called upon by Jack to try and capture terrorist Habib Marwan. Tony was granted provisional status to work at CTU during this time and, after Special Agent in Charge Erin Driscoll left for personal reasons, he was briefly Acting Special Agent in Charge of CTU. Tony was more than a little surprised when Secretary of Defense James Heller called me in to take over the position Tony had temporarily held.
Within hours of being reunited with Tony he and I admitted that our feelings for each other had never died away. We agreed to walk away from CTU and start life anew. However, before we were able to finish our conversation, Tony was re-assigned to the field and was captured. I was then faced with trading Tony's life for the safe passage of an assassin, which I reluctantly decided against. However, due to Jack Bauer's keen field investigation, Tony was freed and he and I were again united.
By the end of the day, Tony, Chloe, Palmer and I aided Jack in faking his death in order to save him from assassination. Both Tony and I reluctantly parted with Jack as he walked into the LA sunrise with a new identity and an encrypted cell phone.
A year later I decided to return to CTU to assist with the investigation surrounding President David Palmer's assassination. Tony pleaded with me not to go without success. As Tony decided to follow me, I was killed by a car bomb outside our home. When Tony found me, it was too late but, the fuel tank in the car ignited, critically injuring Tony. Tony survived the explosion and later learned of my fate. He was informed that I was at Cedars-Sinai, and my condition was yet to be determined. He wasn't informed of my death because his mental and physical state had to be right and everyone knew he would never be able to accept my death.
After Tony discovers that I have died and he realizes that the man responsible was in CTU, he attempts to kill him. However, the man wakes up and kills Tony before he can do it. Although Tony and I have both been killed, we are now reunited together and we will live on forever!
