Michelle Martin solo Singer / Guitar songwriter
I guess my influences are Chet Atkins with his fingerpicken style guitaring, my Dad taught me to play the guitar from the age of 12 and we focused only on Chet Atkins style which shows through my guitaring when I play.
My Son David gave me the inspiration I needed to write more when he said that I sounded ok, I have over 20 of my own songs now and people give me a good feedback.
I have performed at many festivals and slowly building more contacts as I go along.
I must say a big thank you to Marco who is a cello player in Venezia he gave me a push that helped me to play in front of people, he probably does not know that though.
The song God’s creation has Ash Reynolds on the electric guitar playing lead.
Scotty (Cormac Scott) Plays the Bodhran drum on two of my songs (Wait till tomorrow) and (Meet by the river also known as Harmonic endings), I love the Bodhran sound it as such a deep boom feel that gets you right in the gut.
(Just being me) was written last year at the Normanton-on-Soar festival.
Spade - Hayden Pritchard wrote two verses on a broken biscuit box, he gave me the biscuits.
Having two verses and no tune I found it difficult but I think it came out pretty good.
Working with other people to get inspiration is good but I don’t think I could do it all the time.
This song is the only one I have written with someone else.
Sounds Like
Jude-as written these words to explain about Michelle`s song writing, "I love it`s purity, the timbre of your voice and the sesitivity and unpretentiousness of the music not to mention the lovely guitar playing"-

Midlands based singer/songwriter Michelle Martin`s songs about love, life and the world around us have their own unique charm. Michelle`s finger picking guitar tunes and beautiful melodies will have you tapping your feet and singing along from the outset. Her solo acoustic performances have been known to silence even the noisiest venues as they are entranced by her angelic voice - definitely a talent not to be missed.
