The Michelle Willis Group is a four-piece band, dedicated to the craft of songwriting, and playing original, soulful and communicative music through the fusions of jazz, folk and pop.
Combining the lyrical subtlety of Joni Mitchell and the simple truth of a church hymnbook, the music they play has so far captured the hearts of Toronto audiences during their monthly residencies at the famed Rex Hotel, C’est What, and other local hubs and clubs.
As the band's fan base in Toronto continues to grow, plans for 2010 include the January release of their debut EP, Shining Bits and Pieces, and their first summer festival tour throughout Ontario.
It was nice meeting you the other night. I will say hi to Dave next time I see him. Your tracks sound great. I do plan to check out Rudder on Saturday.
Was I really that brave? You were the one that smiled at me! Advice for next time, Don't smile! Secondly, how many guy's carry around guitars? To many and not enough! I felt I owed it to to prove I don't need no education! LOL!
To close being a rockstar isn't all it is cracked up to be. But it is a means to an end, and if you can play your cards right. You might be able to help instigate some change in this world of ours...
It was nice to meet you Michelle. p.s. Nice songs!
I just listened to all your songs... beautiful! That breakdown in the middle of Open Hands is, for lack of a better word, sick. Good job, keep writing :)
