Born and raised in Nagoya, MICHIYO started to learn the electric organ(YAMAHA)
when 5 years old. In elementary school，she belonged to the recorder(wind instrument)
club and played baroque，charch music and Japanese folk songs etc．In junior high school,
she played flute, trumpet, contra bass in the brass band. At the same time，she learned
to play 4 beat jazz by electric organ. In high school, changed to have alto sax.
The brass band there, treated jazz tunes, like as "Take the A train"" In the mood"
"The theme of Pink Panser". And the more, "Birdland"of Weather Report,"Fantasy"
of Earth, Wind and Fire，etc. She often listened to the jazz programs on the radio
at home. Then, she majored in English literature at college，and belonged to the jazz band
(combo) there. She often went to join the big band of the another University. During
the college, she studied to compose and arrange at YAMAHA music school．
After graduated, she started to study the improvisaｔion(and chord progression, scales etc.)
again，working as a teacher of electric organ and the ensemble course at YAMAHA
music school for a while．She learned jazz piano from jazz pianist YOSHIHIKO NAYA(p)
(one of the greatest jazz pianists in Japan)，and took lessons of the improvisation
by HIDEHUMI TOKI(one of the world famous jazz alto saxophone players in Japan).
After finished TOKI's lesson the most fastest among his students, she started to play
as a member of the SUNAO WADA(g)(one of the greatest jazz guitarists in Japan)
band in Nagoya.
Since then，she has played with many great musicians，such as MASAHIKO OSAKA(ds)
[November 2000/June 2004],TATSUJI YOKOYAMA(perc)[April 2000],YOSHIHITO ETO(ds)
[August 2001]，HIDEFUMI TOKI(as)[December 2001]，MANABU OHISHI(p)[April 2002],
TETSURO KAWASHIMA(ts)[March 2004], MAKOTO SHIINA(p)[June 2004], TATSUYA
NAKAMURA(ds)[September 2004], MASAHIRO SAYAMA(p)[October 2004], TSUTOMU
OKADA(b)[December 2004], AKIRA ISHII(p)[January 2005], YOUSUKE INOUE(b)
[January 2005]．Besides，she went to listen to the jazz clubs bringing saxophone with her,
and sometimes，luckily played with other great musicians such as KOUSUKE MINE(ts),
SEIJI TADA(as),LEW TABAKIN(ts), SONNY FOTUNE(as).
March 2003，she released her debut album“Luck Of Pieces”［personnel：Koji Goto(p)
Masashi Kato(b)Yoshihito Eto(ds)Recorded on 29-30 September，2002］. Then，she
played with the members at Shinjuku PIT INN[November 2003]，Kichijoji
SOMETIME[November 2003] in TOKYO，and Mister Kelly’s[August 2003] in OSAKA.
