About Mickee Kay

Mickee has been spinning the decks from way back in the eighties, playing Jazz funk and Soul in the local wine bars and clubs. Progressing into the nineties, Mickee started hosting his own underground parties in and around London, playing mainly Trance and techno, before being one of the first DJ's to introduce Hard House on the scene. Along with releasing a couple of tunes on the Wonka's Music Factory label, Mickee held down regular slots on Don FM & Flex FM (local pirate radio stations). As well as holding several residences in London and Kent for promoters such as Seduction and Ghost, Mickee spent a lot of time on the Irish underground scene where his family moved to in 1990. After a few years away from the scene, Mickee has now teamed up with long time friend Steve Phet, where most of their time is spent in the studio producing. They have also relaunched the label Wonkas Music Factory, with a name change to Wonkas Digital. Their first release for nearly 10 years went on sale in early January 2009.
