born in the late 50’s then nothing much happend music wise for several years, then
mid 70’s was in a band called JIVE something but was chucked out for being too loud on guitar, so formed punk band THE MEAT who played the original ROXY in Niel St, the VORTEX and the old SPEAKEASY among others.
Then in 1979 /80 I think it was, played in the original SPLODGENESSABOUNDS playing guitar and the fool for a few years with MAX and 2 PINTS OF LAGER AND A PACKET OF CRISPS
went on Top of The Pops with a ROLF HARRIS song ’2 LITTLE BOYS’ and met JIMMY SAVILLE and DIANA ROSS at the same time. Honest.
I remember doing some recording with the ANGELIC UPSTARTS in Croydon once but dont think I ever played any live shows. Tried to get something together with good old EDDIE TENPOLE in the studio but nothing came of it in the end.. ah well
Auditioned for THE CLASH with about 100 other guitar players at the ELECTRIC BALLROOM.. didnt get the gig.. I dont know if anyone there did
Toured a few times round Europe and USA with THE GODFATHERS but cant remember exactly when, help me someone! Worked with MICK RONSON while he was recording his last album before he died, FROM HEAVEN TO HULL.
Spent some time as a roadie for THE CURE,tuned guitars for JOAN ARMATRADING and was tour manager for HAZEL O CONNER and stage manager at the MEAN FIDDLER(at the ASTORIA) for a few years. Worked for over 10 years with STEVE HILLAGE and SYSTEM 7 at GLASTONBURY and many other events worldwide. including new years EARTHCORE in AUSTRALIA, MEXICO CITY, TOKYO, and BEIRUIT
More recently been playing bass with a BOB DYLAN covers band TO BOB
and up and comming new band THE LOVEBIRDS for a while.
I think theres a few bits missing here and there. Oh yeh played with old punks THE CRABS a couple of years ago at MORCOMBE BAY,and more recently 12BAR LONDON fanks WILL but I guess thats my brain
