The deep parts of my life pour onward,
as if the river shores were opening out.
It seems that things are more like me now,
That I can see farther into paintings.
I feel closer to what language can't reach.
With my senses, as with birds, I climb
into the windy heaven, out of the oak,
in the ponds broken off from the sky
my falling sinks, as if standing on fishes.

I flailed about in my early teenage years, but when punk hit the suburbs in the late '70s, I latched on and never let go. I've been in dozens of bands over the years, as a frontman and songwriter and as a sideman ... Human Therapy, Kent State, the Flamethrowers, the Millstones and the Holy Rollers to name a few.
The songs on this page represent a slice of my output over of the last seven years, which I have spent at home with my two youngest daughters here in LA.
I also curate a series of shows at the Press (www.myspace.com/the_press) in Claremont called "Mick Rhodes' Cavalcade of Unknowns." I've had Mike Stinson, Randy Weeks, Farmer Tan, the Stereotypes, the Hickmen, Preston Smith and many others.

Today I had a real good time enjoying your tunes, needed some upbeat songs to energize me, and your stuff made that happen..the lyrics are also well placed and believable..The song (It's to late for that) hit home with me..Thank you for the pleasure.! ....**Marianne**
