About Mick Sweda Kids

Mick Sweda and the Candy Bar Band was founded by ex-Bulletboys guitarist/songwriter Mick Sweda. The band's first release is the good time, hard rocking kid's record, Songs in the Key of Cool. Mick was inspired to write kids music by his son, Wyatt, who also gives his musical talents to the record. He wanted to create music that parents would love just as much if not more than their kids. ATTENTION ADULT FANS: Mick hasn't stopped writing songs with a more mature theme that he's best known for. Expect a new record in the coming year!

DAM has the honor of playing 2 different benefit shows this weekend.The first show takes place on Saturday,May 2nd at Grizzly Rock in Turlock,located at 4905 Golden State Blvd.This show will be a benefit for the family of C.J. Garcia,who passed away at the young age of 20.DAM will play at 9 pm.This is also an all ages show,with admission set at $10,and under 12 gets in for free.The lineup is DAM,Soup,Matty Colmer and the experience,Wicked Hickie,Not An Airplane,Hickory,and a rumored appearance by a surprise local valley favorite. russdudeman	Mar 27 2009 11:35 PM We weren't planning on this show,but it just came up so we said yes.Soooooo all that means is we will be gettin' drunk with our good friends and doing stuff we never do-meaning DAM gems you've guaranteed NEVER,ever heard before.We will also be playing some brand new stuff for the first time ever.Yes thats right-you can be the first to hear our new songs,which are WAY more on the heavy side,and dare I say,in the vein of Rage meets Pearl Jam and Janes Addiction.This WILL be a very special night-think thunder and dynamite in a small room while you're on ectasy.I guarantee this will be a very special PARTY-way different than our usual DAM set on a larger stage.We go on at 8:00 PM.This is going to be different than any thing we've done in our 15 years as a band.But meh,blah blah,let's have a brew together and drown our sorrows while we experience something no one else has yet-NEW DAM SONGS!(Oh yeah-guess I forgot to mention that DAM's alter ego is LEVEE-DAM is the 'lighter' stuff and Levee being the 'heavier' stuff).
