This Chicago-based jam band exhibits a level of creativity and potential for greatness reminiscent of earlier incarnations of some legendary outfits like the Grateful Dead, the Allman Brothers, and the Jimi Hendrix Experience. "Outside The Big Top" features a collection of captivating tunes showcasing the band's penchant for original blues and roots-based rock and roll. As is often the case with jam bands, MICROBlue's live performances are the "real deal" and must be experienced first-hand in order to be fully appreciated. The band, led by singer, songwriter, guitarist and frontman Eric Berglind, has managed to capture the essence of their vibrant stage presence on this CD. Berglind's clever lyrical ability and skillful use of melodic phrasing on compositions like "Gal Optima" and "As It's Dealt To You" set this band apart from ordinary local bar bands. Buy the CD and give it a listen, then and go see them perform live...and be prepared to get hooked!....written by Ron Nyce

MICROblue is a three-piece jam/blues/funk sort of outfit playing the Chicago area club scene. Their CD release, Outside The Big Top, is a pleasing listen for fans of any of the above named genres and anyone else who has their musical heart stuck on “old school.” Much of this music comes from the Allman/Hendrix/Santana sphere of influence and the band does a good job of getting what is primarily a played-live style of music down on tape. Guitarist/vocalist Eric Berglind is both an instrumentalist and a songwriter and his skills in both of these areas give MICROblue enough content to be interesting. The musicians are a tight ensemble and their interplay makes the instrumental parts of their songs quite enjoyable. Berglind’s songwriting style is singer/songwriter with a touch of hippie thrown in for good measure. Echoes of the Grateful Dead and Blues Traveler can be detected along with Berglind’s own emerging voice.....written by Mike O'Cull

Hey guys! Just droppin' in to say hi before the show tomorrow. As I was just saying to one of the other bands we have kind of a hard time getting our peeps to come up that far north, especially in light of all the other shows we've been doing lately but should be fun nonetheless. Lookin' forward to it!

And I see y'all added me to your top friends. Thanks guys! I appreciate that. See ya tomorrow!
