  • Bio

Midair started as a collaboration between AGES (Ethan Gensurowsky's solo project) and Will Hooper (just a filthy guitarist and cool dude). The two began playing and recording experimental acoustic music together in the spring of 2008, and recorded a 3 song EP. The two then added Matt Sedivy (guitar 2008-2009) and Will Wagstaff (drums 2008-present). This quartet played many shows throughout the area; notably, shows at the Water Heater in downtown Roanoke with Commonplace (now OakRoot), as well as at Kirk Ave Music Hall also in downtown Roanoke. The band entered it's next phase with Sedivy leaving the band in early 2009. With Gensurousky entering college in Richmond, Hooper and Wagstaff began perfecting the songs that would become the Mister EP. With the addition of Troy Gatrell (bass June 09-December 09) in the summer of 2009, Mister EP was sure not to disappoint. Recording at the Unicorn Stable, with the wizardly Adam Baber, in November 2009, the band was given their first true studio recording. The addition of Spencer Earhart (bass 2010-present) proved a good fit for the perfection and writing of the songs that would become the debut LP, Bopsock. In May 2010, the 11 track Bopsock was recorded at the Unicorn Stable, again with Adam Baber. new t-shirts ($15) (photos soon.) also available: mister ep ($4) and bopsock ($10). .. .. ..
