About me:
Since an early age I have always been drawn to vintage things, especially the decade of the 1950's, the music, style, culture, etc. America was a little "kindler and gentler" back then, and although an era with its share of problems, (racism, Cold War, etc), it seemed like a great time to grow up, as without exception, everyone I know that came of age in that era, or even adults that lived through post war America say life back then was not as stressfull as it is today.
I love everything vintage, and one of my dreams would be to live in a mid -century home, (Joseph Eickler style), and furnish it completely in period furnishings.
Who I'd like to meet: People who want to Reminisce about a time when:
You could hear street corner doo wop, go to a drive in movie, you could safely walk downtown and actually be able to buy quality, American products, when families actually ate dinner together, when a mans hand shake was his honor, when a neighbor would lend a helping hand, not expecting anything in return, when most stores were closed on Sunday, because people were in a church service, when no one had credit cards, when Coca-Cola came in glass bottles and contained real sugar, when woman dressed like woman, when kids did not try to sue their parents due to parental disciplinary action, when people got married first THEN lived together, when a man could work a blue collar job and be able to happily provide for his family while mama stayed at home, when a Gospel musician was considered a honorable profession, when the pledge of allegiance and prayer were part of daily living for school children, when our society had a conscience about morals and absolute truths, when the word "gay" meant happy, when one would be ashamed to burn an American flag, and if you SEEN someone burn the American flag, you would either call the police or give that person a fist fight they would never forget, when a current or past military person would be thanked and appreciated for serving their nations armed forces, when cars were built in America, when movies about Bible stories were best selling movies, a time where you did not have to watch every word you said in fear of being "politically Incorrect", a time when Gods 10 Commandments were proudly, publically displayed, a time when womans lib, abortion, teen pregnancy, crack cocaine, drive by shooting, mall shooting, Jihad, and terrorism were not a part of our vocabulary.
2) People who are concerned about the direction this nation is headed, and long to get back to some of the "old Fashioned" conservative values of days gone by, share current trends, and how we can make a difference in restoring our values, our Christian heritage, and preserving what freedoms we still have.
" Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord" Psalm 33:12
