Middleman write vibrant, catchy tunes with booming basslines, bleepy melodies and smart lyrics, impossible to pigeonhole & raucous live.
The four piece from Leeds kicked up a storm with their self produced 3 track demo recorded in late 2006. On Radio 1 Zane Lowe gave plays and props, Steve Lamacq crowned them 'Unsigned Band Of The Week' and Huw Stephens not only invited them in to record a Maida Vale session but also declared them
his 'hottest tip for 2007'. The band have also been nominated for 'unsigned act of the year' on Channel Four's Freshly Squeezed.
DIY by nature, Middleman have a relentless work ethic and produce their own records, film their own videos and create their own artwork.
July saw the release of their debut single "Blah Blah Blah" which reached number 14 in the indie chart in its first week. Whilst November saw their second release "Good to be Back" reach number 10 in the indie chart in its first week.
"Middleman make bouncy, vibrant, ridiculously catchy tunes that stand out a mile from everything else around at the moment."
- Huw Stephens Radio 1 Jan 2007
