About Middleweight

Middleweight is a rock quartet that hails from the suburbs of the great city of Chicago. Their sound can be characterized as good old fashioned pop rock with lots of energy and a hint of punk. The band is comprised of Vince Ferrara (lead vocals/rhythm guitar), Ryan Fowler (lead guitar), Mike Ferrara (bass/backing vocals), and Dan Smiley (drums).

Formed in the summer of 2004, the band has gone through many line-up changes to arrive at a 4-piece full of emotion, excitement, and friendship. Middleweight has grabbed the attention of many creating a healthy buzz on their path to success. Along the way, they have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with Lucky Boys Confusion, Showoff, and Treaty of Paris.

In the Summer of 2008, Middleweight entered Solid Sound Studios to record their debut EP which is due out in late July. The mini album contains the strife and struggles of familiar relationships and is sure to strike an emotion in anyone who listens to it.

With an upcoming EP in sight, the second half of 2008 looks promising for the band, as they continue to persevere through the rollercoaster known as rock n’ roll.

Oui Si Only You (@ Reggie's Rock Club Nov. 28)	Nov 14 2009 3:27 PM Don't you hate it when lame ass Rock bands from Chicago, whom you foolishly befriended months ago, randomly appear in comment form to invite you out to their inane shows as if they believe you're gullible enough (you know gullible isn't in the dictionary, right?!) and/or lacking in a social life to actually come hang? Me too. Good thing we're not much of a band or this would be awkward! Awkward like the first dance between two hormone raging teens going through puberty, haha! Alas, it's us, Oui Si Only You, in our most impersonal social networking form. Sorry to get you all excited to read your new comment only to be disappointed like a jilted lover on prom night. It's not all bad, at least we didn't do one of those weird, "Do you like me?" comments, right? I don't think our fragile hearts could have taken the answer to that one! Any who, we're rocking (I know, debatable right, but whether it's master debatable remains the ultimate conundrum!) our last few shows for the year out at a few splendid, unknown little Chicago establishments called Double Door (1572 N. Milwaukee Ave; 21+) on Wed. Nov. 18th at 8pm and Reggie's Rock Club (2109 S. State St.; 17+) on Sat. Nov. 28th at 7pm. We could all perish happily . . . if that's possible . . . knowing you came out and mocked our uninspired /downright ignorant brand of music along with our A.D.D. riddled stage energy. Peace face.
