Midhir Records formed on Bealtaine night 2004, launching with the Bealtaine Metalfest in Belfast featuring Geasa, Secrets of the Moon, Old Season, Aftermath and Bad Boat.
Since then we have gone on to release limited vinyl releases by English progressive heathen metal act Symbel and Irish extreme metal stalwarts Hexxed. Our first CD release, a re-release of Waylander's 'Reawakening Pride Once Lost' album, has cemented our aesthetic and garnered worldwide attention.
We release exclusively atmospheric and dark music, not limited to so-called 'black metal' but music that transcends genre boundaries. This can be seen in our first releases and is a trend we intend to persue.
Starting as a small business on the outskirts of Belfast we now trade internationally with partners all over Europe, USA and Asia. We have substantial shop distribution in the USA/Canada, France, Switzerland and Ireland.
Our retail wing, The Midhir Store (www.midhirrecords.com/catalog) has grown exponentially and gained a reputation for quality service with regular customers worldwide.
