Sat 1st Nov is World Vegan Day!
World Vegan Day is a day of celebration for vegans everywhere. On Sat 1st Nov 2008, celebrate in style at the West Midlands Vegan Festival.
World Vegan Day is an opportunity for vegans and their friends across the world to celebrate and promote veganism. The world's first Vegan Society (here in the UK of course!) was born on November 1st 1944 - started by Donald Watson and friends. So each year on November 1st (since 1994), vegans everywhere celebrate World Vegan Day. The Vegan Society have of course now found a new home, right here in the West Midlands. How many more reasons do vegans need to flock to the West Midlands Vegan Festival and celebrate in style!!
Promote the Event or Volunteer!
Would you like to help promote the festival by displaying a banner or text link on your website, blog or Myspace? Or perhaps you can distribute a few leaflets, display a poster or two etc. Or maybe you would like to volunteer your time on the big day! Read our ..Want To Help?.. page for more info.

Tesco Torture Turtles! They die a prolonged death in agony, anyone can wield the knife and wild populations are being devastated. But Tesco claim there’s nothing wrong in selling live turtles to eat.
Tesco – one of Britain’s largest retailers – is currently making money off the back of animal torture, by selling live animals in their stores in China. Turtles are decapitated by staff without being stunned first – or are sold live to customers who take them home to kill in any way they choose. This cruel and barbaric trade is not only an animal welfare nightmare, it is also an ecological disaster.
Tesco is putting profit over principle. We know you won’t let them get away with it. More info - www. viva. org. uk
