Midnight Ablaze. This is the name that’s setting audiences and venues alight near you. They are a young, energetic and downright refreshing five piece outfit from Devonport, Tasmania, Australia.
Forming mid 2008 at local college, the five members, Taylor, Matt, Lee, Scott & Tom clicked very quickly to produce many quality original songs but took time to craft them to the highest quality through combining their individual technical proficiency and sharing similar yet diverse tastes in music. Through this Midnight Ablaze have created a hard rock sound that is theirs; searing guitar harmonies, pounding rhythm section and driving infectious yet intimate vocals.
In just a short period of time the band has accomplished a lot, they took the year by storm, reaching the number 1 position on the Triple J unearthed Metal chart for two consecutive weeks and the top ten for four weeks with their track ‘Manipulator’. A few months later again reaching the number 1 position on the Triple J Unearthed metal chart for their song 'Running Away'.
In addition to this they received frequent airplay on both national (Triple J) and local (Coast FM & ABC) radio stations.
These quick acheivements saw them appear in respected Tasmanian newspaper ‘The Advocate’ and in ‘SAUCE’, a Tasmanian and Victorian distributed street press magazine. Most recently appearing 'S-PRESS' magazine
Their debut EP 'Nightmare City', produced, mixed and mastered by Dave Venter has been received with an excellent reaction, quickly selling out the inital run and opening many doors. The EP has sinced earned them the oppotunity to contribute music for Australia's first Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) channel, Boardrider's Spektrum. 'Running Away' lead to Midnight Ablaze being Shortlisted National Finalist (Top 5) for the Youth Week 'RockIt' competition Industry prize and WINNER OF THE PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD over more than 700 other entrants.
Most recently, popular track 'Running Away' was selected to appear on the Kill City Vol. 16 compilation as released by 272Records. A compilation which is distributed to over 26 US Colleges, on Amazon.com and available at Hollywood's biggest record store, Amoeba Music. Such success has helped them gain the opportunity to support popular US band 'Blessed By A Broken Heart' on their Australian tour. The success just hasn't stopped with the guys crowned Northwest state rock challenge WINNERS.
Extensive touring of Tasmania will follow to build on their ever expanding fanatical fan base through live performance and the internet. With Mainland shows planned for the new year and also a new record in the works, Midnight Ablaze will be blazing a path in the right direction.
