The Path to Musical immortality is a lot like the path of revenge. To borrow a line from Kill Bill Vol. 1: “Revenge is never a straight line. It's a forest, And like a forest it's easy to lose your way... To get lost... To forget where you came in.” There are many twists and turns, paths to get lost on, and barriers to break through. Music, particularly the kind that Midnight Dawns has chosen,
is no different. It’s a constantly changing, ever evolving spiral. Coming Along?
Although the contributors have changed, the music that this band has consistently created has been(and will remain) a fine blend of Classic metal, modern phrasing, revivalist attitude, meticulousness, paprika, thrash, and classical. Terms like“diminished scale run” and “Natural Minor arpeggio”
are not dirty words in the Midnight Dawns camp. Its members share a dream and a goal of crafting heavy songs that you can pump your fist to, but that have enough melody to satisfy even the most jaded record executives.
With an engaging stage show and adept musicianship, Midnight Dawns have swept the city like the Plagues of Olde. Playing any and every show they can, they have built a reputation
of being the go-to band for any situation, as they proved when they were asked to close a show in downtown Winnipeg, when they already had a gig at the other end of the city. Rather then choose, they played both, and kicked ass both times. Midnight Dawns does NOT cancel gigs.
With new blood and new songs, the momentum will continue for this band until their goal is met. Armed with T-shirts,
, albums and buttons, Midnight Dawns will soon be invading your 'hood. Go and see them, and become part of the Dawn of a New Nightmare…
Hey, you guys played really well on Saturday. Chris and I had to miss most of your set handing out handbills outside gwar with Ryan, but the last few were intense.
HEY! How are you doing? Its been awhile since I've spent much time on the site. Summer was pretty hectic. I'm in the middle of recording. Hopefully we get it mostly done by mid January. In the meantime I just put up a jam track called '2009'. Have a listen! Drop us a comment sometime. Take Care, Nikko
