November 2002 - Aging bass player decides it's time to come out of retirement, and rings up old guitar player. They show up on bass player's brother's doorstep, on account of he happens to play the drums. Band hits it off immediately, and soon dubs itself Rocket86. Guitar player soon remembers he has a day job and kids in diapers, and departs..... February 2008 - With kids now thoroughly potty-trained, and being the proud owner of a new Gibson hollow-body, guitar player rings up old drummer and bass player for a jam. The years melt away, and they realize they have the makings of an actual band. Looking to one of its' main influences for inspiration, band dubs itself "Jumpin' Jack Flash & The Wild Midnight Horse Ramblers of Their Satanic Majesty's Voodoo Lounge & Rock n Roll Circus", but can't fit it on a bass drum head.... They decide to shorten it to "Midnight Rambler", which fits on a drum head quite nicely, thank you.
