ミッドナイト--レインはボーカルのジョセフ--マイケルが１５才の時にニューヨークで結成された。

プロの音楽レッスンを受けた事の無いジョセフは独学で音楽を学び今日に至る。

１９９９年、地元ニューヨークで幸運に恵まれなかったジョセフは全財産、--５０を握り締め、長距離バスに乗りハリウッドへ向かった。

ハリウッドで再スタートをさせたが、バンドメンバーの交代や問題で上手くいかなったった。

一番最初に起った問題。

すぐに新しいドラマーを見つけ、バンドはリハーサルスタジオに住み移り、デモテープを作るが、これがバンド崩壊へと繋がる。

この時のベーシストはチェコ出身。しかし彼女はイエス--キリストの名の元に宗教にはまってしまう。

そして残ったメンバーの薬物やアルコール原因で２００２年に活動休止。

数年の休止中にも曲を書き続けたジョセフは、現在の運命的なバンドメンバーを見つけ、レコーディングに成功。
