About me: Midnights at the Baxter is the only place to catch cult films on the big screen at midnight in Louisville, Kentucky. Films are shown at midnight every two weeks at Baxter Avenue Theatres in Louisville, KY (www.baxter8.com). No DVD projection - all the films shown in their original 35mm glory! The films shown range from horror (Evil Dead 2, Rosemary's Baby, The Shining, Return of the Living Dead) to action with our "Splodin' Summer Series" (Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan, The Fifth Element, Serenity, etc.) as well a variety of others (Pink Flamingos, Donnie Darko, A Clockwork Orange, The Goonies, Pee Wee's Big Adventure, etc.)
Who I'd like to meet: Anyone who enjoys the experience of seeing a cult film on the big screen with a theatre full of fans who love the flick just as much they do. ____________________________________________________________ Trailer for our next midnight film "Independence Day" plays July 4 at midnight! Come out early for free grub at our cookout!
Judging from the voting it looks like it is going to be a summer of fail movies if you ask me. Not sure why more people don't vote for Tron it would be awesome on the big screen! Starship Troopers also has summer splodin written all over it :P
I'd just like to take a moment to thank Midnights at The Baxter for restoring my faith in the almighty lord and savior, Jesus Christ.
Growing up in the distant plains of Sri Lanka, life was never easy. Poverty struck the country and its citizens had no choice but to become self-sufficient. Forced by my grandfather to wrestle bears every night with nothing but gardening tools, my faith declined. Nightfall was indeed, my nightmare.
But that's when I found Midnights at the Baxter, after a small vacation to the America. I heard it was only a legend, a myth. But there I was, standing before it...basking in it's holy presence. I felt it's warmth, much like my first encounter with clothing.
I no longer feared the night. Oh no. I embraced it! I was finally free to rid myself of gardening tools and bear wrestling. Now I could spend my nights watching classic films, films that gave me a feeling I hadn't experienced since being apart of the highly-praised documentary, "Boys in the Trees". Such a blessing could only be endowed my Him.
I already got my second clue I just haven't had time to look into it this weekend. Here is a computer best buy has from a reputable brand that I like and would be more than good enough for what you are doing. Also has a nice widescreen 20" monitor.
I want to see The Shining, but I probably won't get to seeing as how my mom will give me no money. I was supposed to go see Rocky Horror Picture Show with Jamison the last Saturday of November for my birthday, but Mom forgot about me. It will happen soon, and I willl dress to the occasion!
