Founded in Boston by a group of like minded artists, that included THE BEATINGS, in 2001, Midriff Records was formed to support the release of the band's debut LP, "Italiano". The label soon began releasing work by fellow Bostonians. Which was followed by our opening an office in NYC, which in turn, turned us on to some New York City bands. Since that first release, Midriff has gone on to release a plethora of recordings over the past five years, in a homespun, DIY style that seems ever-more removed from the mainstream of independent rock. In those five years we have released discs that have been praised by critics and fawned over by fans. Recordings by artists such as The Autumn Rhythm, Boston noise-rock legends Kudgel, and the entire catalog of Boston noise pop heroes The Beatings. And 2007 looks super exciting as we gear up for new releases by E.R. (Beatings screamer/guitarist takes some solo time), Pending Disappointment, NYC’s Strikes Again, and Get Help (Beatings singer/guitarist Tony takes time to “play well with others”). The distant future’s plans look like more of the same, releasing sincere, intelligent records by artists who don’t buy in to the fashionable and fleeting trends set by novelty acts and misguided tastemakers.

The first 2 songs " Nosferatu " the instrumental, and " Stay up late- UK Surf mix " are the freshest and are slated to be used in the movie Ranchero ( http://www. youtube. com/watch?v=Z2Sn-xOgpWI ) along with other songs from my solo album coming out in 2009 on Midriff.

Wow!!! I think my head exploded from the all the great Rock you at Midriff got!!! "Tire Fire" sounds alot like the "Iron Terry Malone" soundtrack... maybe it's just me... brother ;)
