About me:

We are a group that enjoys building and riding machines that are powered only by gravity. Soap box derby, karts, skate boards, longboards, gravity bikes, streetluge, buttboard, roller blades, roller skates, chairs, minis, anything that a person can build and roll down a hill is cool with us! The faster the better!! The more wierd the better!! The more cool looking the better!! The uglier the better! Just c'mon out and ride! We do stress safety though, as you can see from the pics on this page.

Who I'd like to meet:

Anyone who enjoys going downhill as much as we do! Even if ya dont ride or build, come out with us at one of our gatherings and have a good time with good people! If your not registered on myspace we can also be reached at midwestgravityriders@yahoo.com hope to see ya on a hill!

Our G-race went great here in Burkesville,KY on the 4th of July. It's all new to us here, but we're catching on. Folks here would like to thank Bowlander for coming all the way from southern IL to run our hill with his bike and to demo the streel luge for us. Everyone along the hill enjoyed seeing him exceed 50 MPH on a short run.

One lady thought it was a remote control thing :-)

I've had to miss the last couple due conflicting events. There are a couple good lookin' hills on MO-109 (near Babler) that I'd like to ride.

Things are looking great for Memorial Day! So far we have riders confirmed from Pennsylvania, Florida, Texas, Oklahoma, and Tennessee. This should be the biggest Fun Run to date down at Talimena. Hope to see some of you Midwest guys down there too! Email Eddie or I for info.

Ok guys, More info on the Memorial Day Fun Run. I just booked three campsites at the Queen Wilhelmina Lodge at the top of the mountain where we always stay. For any of you new guys coming, the campgrounds are awesome. They have full facilities, great food at the lodge, and I also reserved an RV site if anyone needs to use one.

OK guys, here's the scoop. The Memorial Day Fun Run will be May 23rd-25th. This will be the 6th year that we have held this event in Oklahoma for all downhill disciplines. Now last year, I moved to Kentucky, but I still wouldn't miss this awesome weekend for the world. The event takes place in Southeastern Oklahoma on the Talimena Drive. The road is a scenic byway that runs along the top of the Kiamichi Mts for over 50 miles. There is very little traffic to control and the pavement is super smooth. There are runs of all types represented from technical runs, to speed runs (80mph), and long runs (4miles). We always stay at a great campground at the Queen Wilhelmina Lodge on top of the mountain. It is a great location with full facilities. We will also be renting a box truck to haul everybody and there equipment around in. I'm also working on getting as many video cameras on the hills as possible. After the long fun days of bombing the hills, we usually end them by sitting around the campfire, telling stories, and even watching DVD's. (Yes there is electricity at the campsites!) Typically, by the time we split up the campsite and truck expenses, this weekend only costs about $40 a person. You don't want to miss out on this! Oklahoma City and Tulsa are the 2 closest major airports to fly into. The drive is located about an hour south of I-40 between Mena, Ar and Talihina, OK.
