MNR

MNR was founded in 2006 by musicians with the intention of helping other musicians.

We started out with a simple enough plan: let’s make some compilation CDs! The goal was to show younger/new bands what was involved, and what it was like to actually take part in a real, genuine, professional grade release. We also wanted to provide established bands with a way to quickly infiltrate several new fan bases.

At the time, we thought the idea was completely unique, and we went to it straight away. It was shortly thereafter that we learned compilation discs (of sorts) had been around for quite some time – and they usually yielded abhorrent results…

Specifically what I mean is: when the final product arrived (IF they ever arrived) they were trash. Front to back, start to finish (and usually printed in some dudes basement).

This immediately made it very hard for us to persuade bands that we were not another MySpace slick-talking-amateur-hour-rip-off, and so the hunt for trusting musicians began…

I won’t bore you with the details, but let me paint a text-based montage: We sent out lots of emails, made lots of friends, found some musicians that wanted to invest in themselves, and months later we released our first compilation. MNR has been going strong ever since (7 experience points for you if you understand the “text-based” reference… nerd).

Now in 2009, we are set to release our 5th compilation!! We also plan to begin working with bands on a more personal basis. Since we started 3 years ago, we have seen countless copy-cats come and go. If you are looking for a new way to advertise, do yourself a favor and work with professionals.

MNR is often imitated, but never duplicated.

Sometimes we amaze even ourselves with the originality of our titles.

Sarcasm aside, this compilation will be set for a release late-2009. It will feature all the things that have helped us make a name for ourselves and our product: 1,000+ copies, professional artwork by [Hangnail Productions], professional mastering (normalizing), approx. 70 copies sent to every band, 8-page booklet with every bands picture, bio and contact information…
