About me:
The Midwife Center for Birth & Women's Health is southwestern Pennsylvania's only licensed and accredited freestanding birth center offering well woman gynecological care, prenatal care and childbirth in a warm and supportive birth center. Our goal is to provide safe and satisfying care that is personalized to meet the need of the woman and her family. Our staff is guided by the philosophy that a woman should be in control of her own health care, including her birth experience.
Since 1982, the certified nurse-midwives at The Midwife Center for Birth and Women's Health (TMC) have cared for thousands of women and their families and have assisted in the delivery of nearly 3,000 babies. It is the only freestanding, licensed birth center option in Southwestern Pennsylvania. We are licensed with the PA Department of Health and are nationally accredited with the Commission for the Accreditation of Birth Centers.
The Midwife Center provides a wide variety of services for women and their families. From well-woman care to pregnancy to wellness education, The Midwife Center provides women in and around the Pittsburgh area a wide variety of options not found in many communities!

We are a nonprofit organization looking to spread the word of our mission, and help better women's healthcare in Pittsburgh. We work hard to educate women and their families. We strive to help the underserved populations in our town find solutions to the barriers and challenges keeping them from accessing quality health care. If you are involved in organizations like our own, or have some free time to volunteer, we would love to hear from you!
