Mieszanka are an energetic, eclectic band playing an
interesting fusion of instrumental music from
different corners of the world. Mieszanka meaning
‘Mixture' in Polish is the philosophy of our group… to
combine a mixture of styles and produce an
interesting, original sound. Influences include
Klezmer, Jazz, Tango, Samba, Reggae, West-African
Highlife and French Café Music! Our music is a
combination of original and pre-composed tunes... The
front line features a 3 part horn section featuring
sax, clarinet and flute in varying combinations.
Vocalists add extra energy and emotion to the group on
some tunes singing in both Yiddish and Spanish. At
times you may want to just sit back, relax and listen
but there are plenty of lively tunes to keep you
dancing!
